Assistant Café Manager (Part-time)

As our Assistant Café Manager, you’ll be a key part of a friendly and supportive team, working to provide excellent service and ensure the smooth operation of our café.

This is a part-time role offering 2 hours per day from 11:30am – 1:30pm, with the opportunity to provide holiday cover when the Café Manager is on leave.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the smooth running of café operations, ensuring excellent customer service during working hours.

  • Supervise and support café staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

  • Manage inventory and maintain adequate stock levels during shifts.

  • Oversee cash handling, including operating the till and reconciling takings when necessary.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with health and safety regulations.

  • Step into the role of Café Manager as required, overseeing the full operation during holiday cover.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or within hospitality is preferred.

  • Barista experience is desirable.

  • Strong background in food preparation and culinary practices.

  • Proven skills in team management and leadership, with the ability to motivate staff effectively.

  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices is essential.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.

  • Flexibility to provide additional cover when required.

  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
