Frequently Asked Questions
It is completely normal to have a few questions before signing up. Here are some of the ones we are often asked and the simple answers that might help.
What is a standing charge?
A standing charge is a small daily cost that keeps your home connected to the gas or electricity network. You pay it even on days when you don’t use any energy.
Why is my bill estimated?
If your supplier hasn’t received a recent meter reading, they’ll estimate your usage based on past readings. Sending regular readings helps make sure your bill is accurate.
What is a unit rate?
The unit rate is the price you pay for each unit of energy you use, measured in kilowatt hours (kWh).
Why has my bill gone up?
Bills can change because of higher energy prices, colder weather, or estimated readings that don’t match your real use. We can help you check for any mistakes and look for support if you’re struggling.
Can I get help if I’m behind on payments?
Yes. Your energy supplier must offer affordable repayment plans and support if you’re finding it hard to keep up. We can help you talk to them and find the best option.
